Mr. Justin Vercher

NISD Parents/Guardians

We, the Normangee ISD Schoolboard, are very excited to name Mr. Justin Vercher as the Lone Finalist tonight.  We believe he is the perfect fit for our district and community and that he will lead our district to thrive academically and in the extracurriculars.  We are eager for him to get started and to get to know our outstanding students, staff, families, and community.

The arduous task of finding the best person possible for the District ensued.  Of the fifty-four highly qualified candidates who applied for consideration to be superintendent, we carefully cultivated through the many to a mere few who potentially would become an addition to our family.  We, as a board, with assistance from the search firm, diligently and meticulously poured through all that applied.  This tenuous process led us to interview five highly qualified candidates.  From the five final candidates, we selected two for the second round of interviews.  This process consisted of meeting families and digging deeper into the absolute best fit for Normangee.

With hard work from all involved and lots of prayer, Mr. Vercher was selected.  He comes to us with over 23 years of experience in education and currently serves as the high school principal at Hillsboro High School.  He has previously served as an elementary and middle school principal in Northwest ISD and as an elementary principal in Birdville ISD and Forney ISD.  Prior to his experience as a principal, Mr. Vercher served as an assistant principal and teacher in Katy and Little River (Kansas) school districts.

Following Mr. Vercher’s naming tonight, there will be a state-mandated 21-day period before he can sign a contract with NISD.  When the 21-day waiting period expires, we will offer an official contract.  An official start date for Mr. Vercher has not been set.

Upon contacting Mr. Vercher regarding the news of his being named the NISD’s Lone Finalist, he responded, “I am genuinely honored to be named The Lone Finalist in Normangee.  It’s truly been a pleasure to get to know the NISD Board, and I am looking forward to building positive relationships and serving the students, staff, parents, and community in Normangee.  This is the perfect spot for my wife and me to raise our family,” Mr. Vercher and his wife, Christy, have four children.

Please, everyone, give a big and warm welcome to the newest additions to our Panther Family, The Verchers.
